Bugle which sent 673 cavalrymen into the 'Valley of Death' in the Charge of the Light Brigade turns up on Antiques Road Show

The instrument, (centre), was carried into the bloodthirsty battle of the Crimea War in 1854 (bottom left) by Private William Brittain, Lord Cardigan's duty trumpeter. The Private would have used the horn to instruct his men to walk, trot or charge at the Russian guns. It was donated to the Queens Royal Lancers and Nottinghamshire Yeomanry Museum in 1964 and its curator, Nick Holtby, took the instrument to Antiques Roadshow experts (bottom right). It will appear on Sunday's episode.
