Lee Harvey Oswald's first pine coffin was auctioned today.  Oswald's first burial took place in 1963 after his assassination by Jack Ruby.


Alleged assassin of President John F. Kennedy, his body was exhumed in 1981 to clear up suspicions that the body of a Russian agent and not Oswald's lay in his coffin.  His body was ultimately transferred to another coffin due to deterioration of the original pine box.
