There was once a Prince William of whom today's Prince William is named - tall, dashing, curious, modest, single-minded who died shockingly in a plane crash as did JFK Jr. and left hearts so solidly broken at his passing - now a precious memory.

Son of the Duke of Gloucester younger brother of Queen Elizabeth II's father, King George VI, and favoured cousin of Prince Charles who named his first son Wliiam after his beloved relative.
