Stunning pictures of the indigenous peoples of South America in the early 1900s have emerged from the archives of a famous naturalist.



First World War hero Lord William Percy CBE DSO spent decades travelling around the globe attempting to understand and document the natural world.


Some images show a bustling fiesta in in Copacabana, Bolivia, in 1914, others show fishermen working the seas of Siberia and Peru.


At other times, buzzards and ducks captured Percy's attention and ended up pictured for posterity.
