But the baroque beauties shown in these portraits were among the most scandalous socialites of their day, living a life on the edge as mistresses to the 'merry monarch' Charles II.

Now, for the first time, a new exhibition at Surrey's Hampton Court Palace will see the flamboyant king's women brought together in the same room.
