Remake of Charles Dickens' classic Great Expectations

de bene esse: literally, of well-being, morally acceptable but subject to future validation or exception

Great Expectations received rave reviews this month when it was screened at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The Dickens' classic which has a star-studded cast including Helena Bonham Carter, Ralph Fiennes, Robbie Coltrane is set for release in November.

And as fans gear up to watch what is sure to be one of the biggest films of the year, a new trailer for the movie has been released today (Friday).
Fresh-faced: A still youthful Helena Bonham-Carter, 46, has been cast in the role of literature's most famous spinster, Miss Havisham

Inevitably, Newell's film will be compared to Sir David Lean’s black-and-white 1946 classic adaptation, which starred 46-year-old Martita Hunt as Miss Havisham and Sir John Mills as Pip.

That version is widely regarded as one of the greatest British films ever made.
It won two Academy Awards – for Best Art Direction and Best Cinematography. It was also nominated in three other categories: Best Picture, Best Director and Best Screenplay.
