On Saturday March 23, many UNESCO World Heritage Sites will turn off their lights from 8:30pm to 9:30pm. Sustainability isn’t an option today; it’s our duty. This medieval Palatine chapel, with its octagonal basilica and cupola, illustrates the combination of the finest architectural traditions from east and west. 

By participating in Earth Hour the Aachen Cathedral wants support the WWF to efforts in nature conservation and the fight against climate change.

The World Heritage Site, Aachen Cathedral, may be encourages some of us, in terms of climate change and to take action with regard to the global movement for a sustainable future to join, partly because world heritage are threatened by climate change.

Earth Hour has always been more than just a campaign, in which the light is switched off for an hour, it should be an inspiration for us, to act together to save our planet.
