On  family holiday to the Channel Islands, the local kids there - not including the children of the tax dodging rich - were semi-menacing delinquents who surfed and smoked bush weed all summer with a pretty intense LOCALS ONLY vibe, they were total badasses then and seems  they were total badasses in 1976 too:
