1955 Western Electric Model 500

de bene esse: literally, of well-being, morally acceptable but subject to future validation or exception
1955 Western Electric Model 500

This Cherry Red Model 500 was made in April of 1955.

As colored sets flooded the US, the handset cords had not yet been made in matching color. Instead a "neutral gray" was installed on the telephone. Straight cords proceeded coiled cords. This model is all original. It came from the field with the straight neutral gray cord and matching mounting cord. The straight cords add value to the phone, especially original gray cords.
