In 1692, an earthquake demolished the city of Port Royal. The city of the Caribbean pirates is now under the Caribbean sea.An archaeological team discovered the ruins in 1981, some of which are still intact. The nearby Fort is a tourist destination while the underwater city continues to be a subject of study for scientists who study this 17th century city.
