The show must go on

de bene esse: literally, of well-being, morally acceptable but subject to future validation or exception

You’ve heard it before  and probably said it:
The show must go on.

Did you know the actual phrase does not stop there? There is more!

If you have ever been in show business and felt tired, angry, or wanted to give up then this phrase likely helped you and many others in the face of troubles, difficulties and bad times.

It makes you remember why you are there and that you must give your best until the very last second of the show.

However, the phrase “The show must go on” is actually followed by
“..otherwise we’ll have to give them their money back”.

This makes sense!
