Saddam Hussein was given the key to the city of Detroit!

de bene esse: literally, of well-being, morally acceptable but subject to future validation or exception

After the invasion of Iraq following the horrendous attacks on September 11, 2001, many Americans were becoming aware of the heinous acts that Saddam Hussein was doing to the people to his country.
Although most people forget that Saddam Hussein was well liked by the American government in the 1980's. As it turns out, the government wasn't the only one that liked him.
Rev. Jacob Yasso had the privilege of flying out to Iraq with members of his church, to be greeted in Baghdad by Saddam Hussein.
Rev. Jacob Yasso was heading to deliver Saddam Hussein with the key to the city of Detroit, after Hussein gave Yasso's church a generous $250,000 donation. Hussein asked Yasso if he still needed more money to pay off the debts that his church was in. When Yasso said yes, Hussein gave awarded him with another $200,000!
According to Yasso, Hussein used to be a very generous, kind human being, despite what the people of his country would say. However, Yasso says that at some point, all the money and power must have gone to Saddam's head.
