About the exhibition
A new exhibition exploring the remarkable reign of Elizabeth I through the lives and portraiture of her subjects is now on show at the National Portrait Gallery in London.
As well as examining the court of Elizabeth herself, visitors can also learn more about the ordinary people of Elizabethan England – from the nobility and gentry, to many other talented individuals such as explorers, soldiers, merchants, artists and writers.
Our November issue includes a feature by the exhibition's curator, Tarnya Cooper, who explains what we can learn about Elizabethan England through some of the objects on display. Tarnya will also be appearing on a future podcast.
Elizabeth I and Her People is on show at the National Portrait Gallery, London, until 5 January 2014. For more information and to book tickets visit the gallery's website
