Richard Rex's book on The Tudors is a fantastic read!























The Tudors had rather weird festive tastes, if the monstrous ‘cockenthrice’ is anything to go by! Those with weak stomachs need not open this link. According to Richard Fitch, the project coordinator for the historic kitchens at Hampton Court Palace, this dish, which saw the head of a pig sewn onto the back end of a chicken (or vice versa), was seen on the most fashionable of banquet tables.
