New York Thanksgiving Day parade

de bene esse: literally, of well-being, morally acceptable but subject to future validation or exception

In the 1920s, the helium-filled balloons in New York's Thanksgiving Day parade could drift for up to a week, and $100 prizes were awarded for each balloon recovered. Throughout the years, many cartoon icons - Bart Simpson, Snoopy, Superman, Spongebob Squarepants and Mickey Mouse, just to name a few- have been featured in the parade. We've collected photos of the balloons, past and present, including this Donald Duck from 1962. See more balloons: http://bit.ly/1iUKkrc
