The forceful Australia actress Judith Anderson, best known for her Oscar-nominated role as Mrs. Danvers in Alfred Hitchcock's 1940 Academy Award-winner, "Rebecca," died on this date (3 Jan.) in 1992 at the age of 94. The noted Tony Award-winning stage actress also appeared in such films as 1944's "Laura," 1945's "And Then There Were None" and 1958's "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" as Big Mama.
