UPPER EAST SIDE CHURCH NO STRANGER TO FUNERALS FOR THE FAMOUS
The Church of St. Ignatius Loyola on the Upper East Side of Manhattan was the scene of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis's funeral in May 1994, and the singer Aaliyah in 2001.
The 116-year-old Catholic church was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 and is notable for its organ - built in London and transported over the Atlantic in the early 1990s.
