Trevor Rhone, born this day, one of Jamaica's most accomplished playwrights. He was honoured by the Government of Jamaica with an award of Commander of the Order of Distinction (CD)
in 1980 for his contribution to the development of Jamaican theatre and his work as a playwright.
The Institute of Jamaica bestowed a Musgrave Gold Medal in 1988, he also received the Norman Manley Award for Excellence in Theatre in 1996.
