Ms. Valdes designed for many celebrities and celebrity wives including Josephine Baker, Sarah Vaughan and Maria Cole (including the ice-blue satin dress she wore when she married Nat "King" Cole in 1948). She is best known for designing the iconic Playboy Bunny suit and capped off her career by designing for the Dance Theater of Harlem.
