Dorothy Dandridge being fitted for a gown by designer, Zelda Wynn Valdes in this photo in a 1954 issue of Hue. Ms. Valdes designed for many celebrities and celebrity wives including Josephine Baker, Sarah Vaughan and Maria Cole - including the ice-blue satin dress she wore on the day she married Nat "King" Cole in 1948.
Valdes is best known for designing the iconic Playboy Bunny suit and crowned her career by designing for the Dance Theater of Harlem.
