Henry VIII Tudor box Anne Boleyn

de bene esse: literally, of well-being, morally acceptable but subject to future validation or exception
Henry VIII Tudor box Anne Boleyn

I adore the Tudor period and so here is my decoupage jewel trinket box of Henry VIII and his wives.
The large wooden box has been covered in real Tudor designs. I then added portraits of Henry and his 6 wives with their mottos. Anne Boleyn's motto ( the most famous of all his queens) was 'The Most Happy'...rather ironic considering her tragic end!

To give a real feel of the luxury of the Tudor court the box is covered in jewels and gorgeous metalwork.
There is a love poem by Henry VIII on the side with a pretty jewel fit for one of his queens.

Inside the lid is a beautiful gold rose with a mask and heart charm. The inner base is lined with velvet.

For the finishing touch I added the famous white and red Tudor rose encased in a glass and metal pendant. Above are the white and red roses of the Houses of York and Lancaster before they united to become the Tudor rose and form the most famous dynasty in British history.

i hope you enjoy this box...it has been a labour of love and a real joy to make.
