A wooden steam ship sunk in 1898 is found 112 years later upright, intact and well-preserved in the cold freshwater of Lake Michigan. It is estimated an additional 500 ships are awaiting discovery at the bottom of the lake. The ship will remain in it's resting place for now rather than risk damage by raising the vessel and exposing it to open air.
