All hail the life of super glue inventor Harry Wesley Cooper Jr. - his invention, first sold in 1958, was an accidental chemical reaction that became the iconic super glue ... and the rest, as we often say, is history.

Glue was discovered in 1942 on a search for material to make clear gun sights for World War II but the compound was initially rejected by researchers when it stuck to everything!
