William Walter Asher III, sentenced to 7 years in prison for a fatal bar robbery in San Francisco in 1967 has been on the lam since escaping Growlersberg Conservation prison camp in El Dorado County in Northern California in 1975.

Living under assumed name David Donald McFee his trail remained cold until his mother, on her death bed, asked family members to contact him with a secret number.  Two tracked calls led to Asher under another alias, Garry Donald Webb, he was arrested without incident.
