Carl Oglesby

Sixties activist,
President of the Students for a Democratic Society,
dynamic orator,
who worked hard for a life of comfort and safety then gave it away to save the world but gained his father's anger instead.

The sixties was an unfulfilled dream that ended with the deaths of King and Kennedy as Vietnam raged on - he never recovered.

His obsession with Kennedy's assassination in recent years were followed by the books he penned on the subject.

"The 60s will never level out. It's a corkscrew. It's a tailspin. It's a joy ride on a rollercoaster. It's a never-ending mystery."

RIP to the heart who dared to dive for that horizon's light, the hope of change.
