Since 1945, the Netherlands have been the arbiters of a secret in which tens of thousands of paedophilia victims at the hands of Roman Catholic Priests were ignored.

In orphanages, boardings schools and seminaries country wide, abuse was systematically covered up to protect the reputation of the church.  A scandal more widespread than that in Ireland.
