A Nazi sympathizer who was a historian who posed as a resistance hero has been exposed by Israeli and German researchers.
Karl Bosl used a web of lies and half truths to replace his pro-Nazi past with the image of a brave opponent of the Reich by taking onto himself the story of an executed resistance fighter. Fooling Allied occupying forces in the town of Ansbach he spent decades carefully solidifying his cover.
A book in English and titled, Karl Bosl and the Third Reich has been penned by the researchers Kedar and Herde.
Bosl died in 1993.
