Set in the South two years before the American Civil War, Django is offered freedom by German-born bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz in return for helping him find the murderous Brittle brothers, who only Django can lead him to.
Success leads Schultz to free Django, but the two men choose not to go their separate ways.
Django hones his skills as part of their fearsome new team, but remains focused on one goal: finding and rescuing Broomhilda, the wife he lost to the slave trade long ago. Their search ultimately leads them to Calvin Candie, the proprietor of Candyland. an infamous plantation where slaves are groomed by trainer Ace Woody to battle each other for sport.
