In honor of Veterans Day, a look at the Hollywood Canteen which provided free food and entertainment to over 3 million servicemen during World War II.

Bette Davis would receive the Distinguished Civilian Service Medal, the Defense Department's highest civilian award, for her founding and running of the Hollywood Canteen.
