Charles Darwin

de bene esse: literally, of well-being, morally acceptable but subject to future validation or exception

“It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change.”
Charles Darwin, born 12 February 1809.

The English naturalist who helped to establish the theory that all species of life have descended over time from common ancestors, and proposed the scientific theory that this branching pattern of evolution resulted from a process he called natural selection, in which the struggle for existence has a similar effect to the artificial selection involved in selective breeding.
