75 years of Colour Photogrpahy

de bene esse: literally, of well-being, morally acceptable but subject to future validation or exception

A new book entitled Color Rush is a vivid journey through the story of color photography. According to the publishers, the collection charts its history 'from the moment it became available as a mass medium to the moment when it no longer seemed an unusual choice for artists.'

'The book begins with the 1907 unveiling of autochrome, the first commercially available color process, and continues through the 1981 landmark survey show and book The New Color Photography, which hailed the widespread acceptance of color photography in contemporary art.'

The title includes famous names such as Ansel Adams, William Eggleston, Eliot Porter, Cindy Sherman, Edward Steichen, Stephen Shore, and many more.
More information on the book is available at Aperture and there is corresponding exhibit until May 19 at the Milwaukee Art Museum.
