Obelisk of Axum

de bene esse: literally, of well-being, morally acceptable but subject to future validation or exception

Dated at about 1700 years ago, this structure is found in Ethiopia. It is ornamented with two false doors at the base and features decorations resembling windows on all sides. The obelisk ends in a semi-circular top part, which used to be enclosed by metal frames.

The age of this structure is a guess at best. We wonder if this was the true date of construction or whether it is much older.
