Fascinating Fact!

de bene esse: literally, of well-being, morally acceptable but subject to future validation or exception

Tudor Trivia Time!

Ever wondered why all ships, even ones with male names like the Peter Pomegranate, are referred to as a she? There are many theories, but the most likely is that it is leftover from Old English, which, like most other Indo-European languages, used grammatical gender, meaning that all objects were referred to as either male or female. In almost every other Indo-European language, "Ship" is feminine.

Though that does raise the question, why did it stick for ships more than it did for other objects?
