Freedom Riders

de bene esse: literally, of well-being, morally acceptable but subject to future validation or exception

Jim Zwerg was among the 18 white and black college students from Nashville who had decided to take the bus trip through the segregated South in 1961. They called themselves Freedom Riders, the goal to desegregate public transportation. Attacked by the Klan he waited for two hours for transport to a hospital - no white ambulance would take him.
