A hundred years ago in Tibet: Fascinating glimpse inside mysterious kingdom through the eyes of some of the first Europeans to visit Forbidden City a century ago
These remarkable images were taken by the first expedition of British
soldiers to enter the mysterious Tibetan capital city of Lhasa in 1904.
The expedition was led by Colonel Francis Younghusband but initiated by
the Viceroy of India Lord Curzon who was obsessed with stopping Russia
from gaining control in the country.
