Juliana leapt into action after the device fell through the roof of her owner's house in 1941. It is thought she put out the flame on the bomb by standing over it and emptying her bladder. Three years later she alerted customers to a fire that was ripping through her owner's shoe shop, earning her a second Blue Cross Medal. The Great Dane's fascinating story was only revealed when auctioneers conducted a house clearance at a property in Bristol and discovered the medal and a portrait of Juliana.
