About the exhibition
Some 160 religious, military and personal objects from the Roman
period will be displayed in Bristol, giving visitors a glimpse into the
lives and history of Roman people.The objects on display, which belong to the British Museum, include sculptures from the villas of the emperors Tiberius and Hadrian, coins from the famous Hoxne treasure hoard, jewellery and even near-perfectly preserved children’s clothing.
