Archaeologists to investigate network of Roman ports

de bene esse: literally, of well-being, morally acceptable but subject to future validation or exception

Archaeologists will conduct fieldwork ‘in situ’ at eight of the 31 ports, surveying sites with the latest geophysical techniques at Ephesus, Pitane and Kane in Turkey; Gades and Tarraco in Spain; Portus and Puteoli in Italy and Utica in Tunisia. They will also use satellite imagery and data to study the remaining 23 ports in France, Egypt, Tunisia, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Libya, Israel and Greece.
