Marilyn Monroe

de bene esse: literally, of well-being, morally acceptable but subject to future validation or exception

Marilyn Monroe flew back to L.A. from NYC on this date in 1956. According to a story in the next day's L.A. Times she "brought activities at International Airport to a standstill."

Miss Monroe was wearing a tailored brown two-piece suit and a high-neck black blouse. When asked if the switch from low-cut outfits to the high-neck suit indicated a change in personality, she replied, “Same Marilyn – new suit.”

She said she has no romance in her life at the present time, “but I haven’t given up.” Read more below on our photo blog.
