Posthumous Medals of Honor for service in WWII, Vietnam, and Korea

de bene esse: literally, of well-being, morally acceptable but subject to future validation or exception

President Obama has announced that Jewish and other minority veterans will be awarded the Medal of Honor, after being overlooked for the nation’s highest honor due to institutionalized discrimination.

A review conducted by the Army found eight Vietnam veterans, nine Korean war veterans, and seven World War II veterans are deserving of the nation's highest military honor. Only three of the recipients are still living.
