On November 11, 1909: the uprising of 20,000 began in New York City. 

The shirtwaist strike in New York was carried out by thousands of working women who wanted reform of safety issues including fire escapes and locked doors. Over 300 shops met the workers' demands; unfortunately as a future event later revealed, the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory did not.
