Saint West

de bene esse: literally, of well-being, morally acceptable but subject to future validation or exception

According to Baby Center, the name Saint was first registered in the US in 1896, when it ranked as the 770th most popular boy’s name that year. The following year, it slipped to 926, before falling from the list altogether for many years.

During the past five years, the name has seen a small resurgence in popularity – although it remains one of the more unique monikers in use in the US. In 2002, Baby Center recorded four baby boys per million to have been given the name, however that number swelled in 2011 to 23 children per million – a recent high for the name.

Saint is currently ranked as the 4,733rd most popular name for boys in the US, having climbed from 7,214th place last year.
