nuclear bombs on Spain

de bene esse: literally, of well-being, morally acceptable but subject to future validation or exception

The day America dropped 4 nuclear bombs on Spain has been all but forgotten
Seven crew members of the B-52 Stratofortress took off from Seymour Johnson Air Force base in North Carolina almost exactly 50 years ago, on January 16, 1966. Their mission was part of a huge operation called Chrome Dome, which had been running for six years and was a vital part of the United States' nuclear capability. But disaster struck when two planes - one of which was loaded with four hydrogen bombs - crashed while refuelling in mid-air. The four bombs fell to earth at a terrifying speed, and millions of people across Europe faced imminent death and disaster
