Espionage and Ingenuity

During World War II chess sets with silk maps, compasses and codes hidden within were sent by MI6 to POW camps to help them escape their German captors.

There were packs of playing cards that fit together like a puzzle to form escape maps.

Blankets when immersed in water had clothes patterns drawn in invisible ink that became civilian clothes for escape.

Monopoly and other board games also hid maps and other information.

Incredible ingenuity that included code words that tipped prisoners onto the clues inside!
