Louis Allen, a black WW2 veteran and an aid advocate of civil rights workers was shot and killed in 1964 having enduring harassment for speaking to the FBI after he witnessed the murder of a civil rights worker.  Allen's family suspect former Sheriff Daniel Jones who had investigated the murder and uncovered no suspects.  All circumstantial paths lead to Jones.  Allen's son Hank witnessed Jones' violent and threatening treatment of his father.

The FBI plan on solving this case and 100 others with the "Cold Case Initiative" project - reinvestigating unsolved murders of the civil rights era.

60 Minutes on CBS will explore the case of Louis Allen this Sunday at 7pm.
