Nazi War Plane Found Preserved

de bene esse: literally, of well-being, morally acceptable but subject to future validation or exception

A WW2 German bomber, the Dornier 17, shot down in 1940 over the English Channel during the Battle of Britain was hidden for years by shifting sand under the sea.  Upside down under 50ft of water, it had been ditched off the Kent coast of southeast England.

Incredulous is its startling state of preservation - a significant aeronautical find of the century.

The Royal Air Force Museum at Hendon in London hope to launch a lifting operation.
