Hudson River Oldest Floating Home

de bene esse: literally, of well-being, morally acceptable but subject to future validation or exception

The oldest is the coolest .... when a 1906 Ellis Island Ferry, one of the last of its fleet is retrofitted into a floating home.

In world war one the Yankee was outfitted with guns and canons and was one of the first vessels used to patrol the Boston Harbour.

In the 1920s it ferried immigrants from Ellis Island to Manhatten who had just landed in America - often their first sight of US soil having arrived below deck as was done on many transatlantic voyages.
