this day in 1557, Anne of Cleves died at her home, Chelsea Old Manor.
She was 41 years of age and the only one of Henry's six wives to be
buried at Westminster Abbey.

July 1546: On this day in history Anne Askew was burned at the stake
for being a heretic. She had previously been illegally tortured to such
an extreme that she could not walk and had to be carried to her
execution.
