Anne of Cleaves and Anne Askew

de bene esse: literally, of well-being, morally acceptable but subject to future validation or exception

On this day in 1557, Anne of Cleves died at her home, Chelsea Old Manor. She was 41 years of age and the only one of Henry's six wives to be buried at Westminster Abbey.
16th July 1546: On this day in history Anne Askew was burned at the stake for being a heretic. She had previously been illegally tortured to such an extreme that she could not walk and had to be carried to her execution.
