Mother Teresa

de bene esse: literally, of well-being, morally acceptable but subject to future validation or exception

“If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and true enemies; succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; be honest and frank anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; do good anyway…
You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God; it was never between you and them anyway.”

- Mother Teresa, born 26 August 1910.

Albanian born, Indian Roman Catholic nun who founded the Missionaries of Charity, which in 2012 consisted of over 4,500 sisters active in 133 countries. They run hospices and homes for people with HIV/AIDS, leprosy and tuberculosis; soup kitchens; children's and family counseling programmes; orphanages; and schools. She was the recipient of numerous honours including the 1979 Nobel Peace Prize. In 2003, she was beatified, the third step toward possible sainthood, giving her the title "Blessed Teresa of Calcutta".
